“To foster an inclusive community where every culture is celebrated, every voice is heard, and every individual feels a sense of belonging.”
We bring people together through culture, food, fashion, and open conversation — creating a space where the whole community of Elstree and Borehamwood feels welcome.
We support local and start-up businesses by giving them a visible platform to grow and connect.
We invest in young people through volunteering, mentorship, and hands-on experience that builds real skills.
The founding gathering was built around three communities — English, Jewish, and Nigerian residents of Elstree and Borehamwood. They set the tone for everything that followed: openness, cultural pride, and genuine respect for every person in the room.
The Indian community joined in 2022, bringing new music, food, and traditions that enriched the experience for everyone. It marked a turning point — proof that the festival was becoming something larger than its founding. genuine respect for every person in the room.
By 2025, the Chinese community added new artistic expressions, culinary richness, and cultural exchanges that further broadened the festival’s reach and identity.
This year, French bakers join the festival for the first time — adding heritage, craft, and creativity to a programme that keeps growing because people keep saying yes to inclusion.
Everyone participates on equal terms, regardless of background, age, ability, or belief.
Every part of the festival reflects the full diversity of Hertsmere, on stage, at stalls, and behind the scenes.
Harassment and discrimination have no place here. Every concern is taken seriously.
